Mother Father Gentleman

PSY has returned. The new song "Gentleman' has already had about 18 million views and I've got to say, it ain't half bad. I was one of the few people who genuinely never got sick of Gangnam Style, and I was quite worried that his follow up would flop. But the guy has played to his strengths, the tune is catchy and the video is silly. So maybe this is only the beginning of his reign over the charts. I certainly rather back it than the "Ding dong the witch is dead" jab at Thatcher.
Anyway, last night I went to see Tom Cruise's new film "Oblivion". I'd seen trailers of the film all over the TV in the weeks before its release, and they did a fantastic job at not spoiling the plot of the film. After seeing the trailers, I thought I had built up an idea of the plot, in which Tom Cruise gets captured early on and starts to bond with his captors as he understands their plight, and whilst that is sort of the case, there are many plot twists and surprises that I never saw coming. It left a lasting effect on me, I spend the rest of the evening and much of this morning pondering over it. It's the sort of film you can't help but want to re-watch, just to see if there is anything you overlooked the first time. The films only let down is that the characters never really get fleshed out. Game of Thrones's Jaime Lannister pops up as this crazy sniper who mistrusts Tom Cruise, but you never find out why. Just like you never find out why some of the characters that capture Tom Cruise have strange names. The film is based on a book, but having never read it I couldn't say how much it is based on it. But I imagine the characters names are explained in that, for those interested in finding out more.
On a final note, I've been doing a few drawings of random video game characters, and when I have a few more done I'll post them up.
So tata, and have some new PSY
